If God is God, then why does He need to rest?

If God is God, then why does He need to rest?

Genesis 2:3

states that after God created everything, “He rested.” While no one has ever suggested that God was truly “tired” that is what “rested” suggests. In fact, the Hebrew word for “tired” simply means to “ceased His activity.” God wasn’t tired (in terms of how we get tired) He just stopped the creation process. His creation was complete. That is why the number 7 is consirdered the number of completion. God also was setting the example for us to take time and rest.
